International competition for U25-riders at the FEI European Championships in Gothenburg 2017

Lövsta Future Challenge and the FEI European Championships in Gothenburg 2017 have created a new concept of international competitions for young riders which will premiere at the FEI European Championships in Gothenburg next summer. The top U25 riders from the leading nations in dressage and showjumping will be invited to compete, individually as well as in teams.

– We will have a number of classes in the program, which are not a part of the championships. The Lövsta Future Challenge classes are for U25 riders in both dressage and showjumping and the riders will have the opportunity to ride in the main arena – Ullevi Stadium. For us it was natural to turn to Lövsta Future Challenge for a partnership in this. We’ve been partners for several years at Gothenburg Horse Show and it has worked fantastically. The contribution to the sport by Lövsta Future Challenge is important, says Tomas Torgersen, competition manager at FEI European Championships Gothenburg 2017.

Lövsta Future Challenge is a competition in both showjumping and dressage focusing on the development of young talents, both horses and riders. The goal is to give the horses and riders the right qualifications to compete in international Grand Prix and have a career in the national teams. Lövsta Future Challenge is also a strong force in working with sustainability in the equestrian sport, and sustainability is high up on the agenda for the organization during the FEI European Championships.

– We are really proud to be able to present Lövsta Future Challenge as an official partner for the championships next year, says Johan Pagerup, sponsorship manager for the FEI European Championships in Gothenburg 2017.

This will be the first time that U25-riders in both dressage and showjumping will have their own international classes during a European Championship. There will be both individual and team competitions with Lövsta Future Challenge as class sponsor.

– This is a new step for us in our effort to support young talents in both showjumping and dressage. We’ve created this concept together with the organization of the FEI European Championships and it’s a way to develop what we’ve already accomplished with Lövsta Future Challenge. The best riders from the best nations will be invited to compete against our Swedish riders, both individually and in a team competition, says Emelie Broman Tegelberg, project manager for Lövsta Future Challenge.
